Over the course of this workshop, 约阿希姆, 达席尔瓦, and the ensemble experimented with staging and rehearsed initial drafts of the score together. The workshop culminated in an internal showing of the work-in-process.

娜塔莉约阿希姆 (MAP ’96; Pre-College ’01; BM ’05, flute) is a Grammy-nominated flutist, composer and vocalist. The Brooklyn-born Haitian-American artist was a co-founder of the critically acclaimed urban art pop duo Flutronix and navigates everything from classical to indie-rock, all while advocating for social change and cultural awareness. A 2020 United States Artist Fellow and 2019-20 Kaufman 音乐 Center artist in residence, 约阿希姆 has performed and recorded with artists and ensembles including Bryce Dessner, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, 理查德·里德·帕里, 米格尔Zenon, and the International Contemporary Ensemble, and is the former flutist of the contemporary chamber ensemble 第八个黑鸟. 作为一名作曲家, 约阿希姆 has been commissioned to write for instrumental and vocal artists, 跳舞, and interdisciplinary theater.
